2017 Barbera d’Asti DOCG “Braia”

Production zone: from the cru “Braia” in the town of Aramengo.
Vines: 100% Barbera
Vinification: hand picked grapes. Destemming, maceration and fermentation on the skins for 15 days. Half a year in steel and two months in bottle before release.
Sensory Characteristics:
Colour: very intense ruby
Aroma: aromas of mature ripe red fruits.
Taste: generous, round and well balanced with notes of cassis and cherries – juicy.
Accompaniment: excellent with tagliolini burro e tartufo, agnolotti alla piemontese or carne cruda.
Serving temperature: 18 C.
Summary: this area of Piemonte can produce wonderful barbera like this one, with generous fruit and a juicy roundness. It is a pleaser: so colorful and exuberant. It will reward those that decide to age it a few years longer.
